The 801 D4 Signature range takes the existing 801 D4 loudspeakers and optimises them for even greater sound quality and clarity. Everything from the proprietary Diamond Dome tweeter and Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing has been tweaked for audio perfection, with additional features such as the all-new tweeter grille and upgraded crossover resulting in a piece of hardware that is second-to-none.
Diamond Dome tweeter
The ultra-stiff Diamond Dome tweeter has been part of Bowers & Wilkins’ impressive catalogue of audio components for more than 20 years, delivering exceptional accuracy with minimal weight and mass. While slight adjustments have been made to improve performance, the core of this first-rate tweeter remains the same as it was when first introduced—a one-of-a-kind example of precision engineering.
Solid Body Tweeter
The tweeter housing for the 801 D4 Signature range introduces a newly designed tweeter grille and a longer tube-loading system, producing greater clarity of sound reproduction at higher frequencies. Its elongated form contributes to the speakers’ stylish design.
Upgraded crossover
The rear-mounted crossover design of the 801 D4 Signature has been upgraded from the base model, isolating the sensitive capacitors within the unit from any unwanted effects caused by air pressure within the cabinet enclosure. This state-of-the-art crossover also acts as a heatsink for the speakers, guaranteeing optimal performance even with extended use.
